Refunds
Getting your money back
Money comes back two ways: the pass guarantee, and 7 days from the day you buy, no reason needed.
The pass guarantee
Complete at least 3 full practice exams before your test date. Fail your first NMLS SAFE MLO national test attempt anyway? Claim within 90 days of purchase and the money comes back in full.
What has to be true:
- Three full-length mocks (the 190-minute mock) finished and submitted, any score, before the test date on your score report
- Your first attempt at the NMLS SAFE MLO test, not a retake
- The purchase came before the attempt
- Submit your claim within 90 days of purchase, one claim per customer
There is no minimum mock score. Claims that abuse the guarantee may be refused.
Your mock records are already on the account, so there is nothing to send for them. If you have a genuine fail notice and missed one of the conditions, write anyway and say so.
How a guarantee claim works
- Send the score report. The score report from your first attempt: the unofficial one the test center prints, or the official result posted to your registry record. The document itself, not a photograph of a screen.
- Names are matched. The name on the score report has to be the name on the purchase.
- Mock records are checked. Three completed full-length mocks, timestamped before the test date on the report. Your account already holds them, so there is nothing for you to send.
- Full refund. Refunded in full through the payment provider. Submit your claim within 90 days of purchase. One claim per customer.
If you changed your mind
Separately from the guarantee, ask for a refund within 7 days of buying and you get it, no reason needed. Write to support@originatorexam.com, or take the request to our payment provider, which took the payment.
Billed by ExamPrep; your statement will show EXAMPREP. That is the seller of record behind OriginatorExam, so a statement line you do not recognize is probably this one. Please ask us before raising it with your bank.
After 7 days, ask anyway if something has gone wrong.
How to ask
- Write from the address on the account, so we can find it.
- Say roughly when you bought it. The order number from the emailed receipt helps, but it is not required.
- A reason is welcome but never required.
After you ask
Inside the window the answer is yes, and there is nothing to justify.
Refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within a few working days. Nothing is deducted, and the tax that was added on top of the $79 USD comes back with it.
Who actually sends the money back
The merchant of record is our payment provider, under the seller name ExamPrep. The refund is issued from there, back to the card that paid.
What happens to your account
A refund closes the paid bank straight away. The free half stays open, and your answers, your scores, your flashcard schedule and your sitting date all stay where they are, so if you buy again later it is all still there.
When we refund
Bought it twice by accident, bought the wrong thing, or it is just not for you: write in within the window and we refund you, whatever the reason. Ask after the window and we will still read it.
We do not refund a buyer who copies the question bank out of the site and then asks for the money back.
A result on the test is the pass guarantee's ground and not this one, on the conditions set out above. Outside them OriginatorExam sells practice rather than an outcome: what happens on test day is between you and the test provider, and no study product decides it.
Chargebacks
Please write to us first. A chargeback takes weeks and gets you nothing an email would not get you faster. It closes the paid bank the same way a refund does, and if it is later settled in the seller's favor, access comes back.
